Hamish A Highlander Romance The Ghosts of Culloden Moor Book 28 edition by LL Muir Romance eBooks

A rescue through time...
Have you ever been tempted to sit patiently on a Scottish hillside to see what--or whom--the mist might bring?
With violin in hand, Samantha MacKord sets out to do just that. But when a Highlander appears, she realizes it might be her music, and not the mist, that lured him to her. Unfortunately, he's not the only one who's been listening...Hamish Farquharson is ready for a holiday and a rich woman to spend it with, but the witch isn't thinking about his needs. Instead, she sends him on a complicated rescue mission to save three abandoned children. And in a cruel twist, he's given the perfect woman to protect, and the one enemy who might destroy them all.
*HAMISH is #28 in the series.
Most of these romances can be read in any order, but first, read the short set up, THE GATHERING, to avoid confusion. Don't forget to come back and review them both and follow The Ghosts of Culloden Moor on Facebook.Hamish A Highlander Romance The Ghosts of Culloden Moor Book 28 edition by LL Muir Romance eBooks
I fell in love with Hamish when this tall rugged Highlander opened his arms to comfort the three orphaned child ghosts. His heart and arms were open later to the modern woman who accepted him and later the the orphaned children against the evidence of her eyes and modern sensibilities. This novel and yes, I call it a novel, is long enough to allow the romance to develop naturally, and offers enough complexity unlike the hurried pace of the other stories I have read so far. Samantha knows Hamish more from his actions than his history before Culloden, which except for the fact that he was known in his family as a complainer and had a sister, remains shadowy. There really isn't even much told about his participation at Culloden except for the wound that killed him. But that is okay. The kind of person Hamish is comes across in his afterlife.
The snogging doesn't come until well into the story, and is controlled, probably because of the presence of the children and that is all to the good. All of that almost instant sloppy snogging in some of the other novels between two people who have just met is a bit much. There really should be a basis for the affection before the kissing.
.Hamish's brave defense of Samantha and the children against the ghost of a British soldier earns him a boon from the Muir Witch far different from the one he expected, and not only one.
Time slips back and forth in this novel, making it fascinating to the discerning reader, and in time everything comes together in a satisfying conclusion for all, including this reader
The identity of the old witch who resided in the cabin remains a mystery until it is revealed at the end. My guess as to her identity was wrong.
Best of all to me, the story begins and ends in Scotland. I was enchanted.
A couple of quibbles: it would be less jarring if Ms. Muir's heroines would not use such slang as 'freak out', (a writer must surely have access to an online thesaurus for alternatives) and if her Culloden ghosts would not use modern terms that it would be difficult for a ghost from 270 years before to understand, absent a modern dictionary. It is hard to believe that the ghosts would be spending all of their time watching much less understanding TV or modern terms and slang.
But despite those small issues, this novel was a revelation in this series showing how good these stories could be with a little more imagination and more time and attention to writing them. Brava, L.L.Muir! This is one I will likely re-read. Love Hamish!

Hamish A Highlander Romance The Ghosts of Culloden Moor Book 28 edition by LL Muir Romance eBooks Reviews
I generally love long, detailed books but this was a very nice change of pace. I do not reveal spoilers so I will just say that if you like a quick paced story involving love, time travel and a cute story to bring it all together then you will really like this!
I wasn’t sure whether I was going to enjoy this book or not. I’m not a favorite of ghost stories although there are a few (very few) that I do enjoy. Surprise! I enjoyed it very much. Samantha has inherited two cottages in Scotland. She’s my strong woman but what she goes through makes her think she’s in a coma. A wonderful clean and sweet romance with a touch of suspense.
Honestly this author always creates a story that you simply cannot put down until you finish. These characters are wonderful here's a bit of time transportation and some ghosts and so delightful characters. Please enjoy this masterpiece
I really enjoyed the interwoven time-lines with the smattering of history, acceptance of modern times & the bravery as well as the resourcefulness of three children.
Although short it's a captivating story. Look forward to more adventures.
He would never complain about anything he thought was frivolous ever again. Instead he would enjoy what ever comes his way an help doing what must be done. As ever a great storyline. Once you start one of these books you can't put it down till you reach the end. Looking forward to next book in this storyline.
I have read all 28 books in this series. I highly recommend all their books in this series as their are different authors but the same story and some same characters. All the ghosts have a number and a wonderful story to go along with them. These books are for everyone who loves ghost and witches and time travel stories. Diana Romano
A cute story of a Ghost Hamish Farquharson from the Culloden massacre in Scotland and an American Samantha MacKord. Sam inherited her great grandfathers property in Scotland so she packed up her life in America and moved to Scotland. After settling in for a few weeks Sam finds that the village have finally accepted her into the family of cousins she did not know she had left. Samantha decides to walk the mountain to discover if the tales she has been told might have some truth to them and stumbles onto Hamish. Hamish has been released from his ghostly prison the witch Soncerae has enforced on him. He has been promised a few days to make a difference in someone's life. When Hamish arrives he finds the cottage of an Auld woman and he barters for a berry pie in exchange for his father's ring.
